Hutchinson is, as its name does not suggest, a French brand.
It was created in 1853 by an American, Hiram Hutchinson, who had just bought the vulcanization patent from Goodyear and who wanted to establish himself in France.
As early as 1890, the first bicycle tires appeared.
With more than a century of experience in the design and manufacture of bicycle tires, Hutchinson is the only manufacturer that still manufactures its products in France.
At Massacan, besides the history of cycling, we like to harness local talent and encourage short circuit economy.
By getting closer to Hutchinson, we discovered a human-sized company made up of passionate and friendly people.
So, we can offer you our bikes with the tire of your choice, but, this will especially be the case for Paula , we will always direct you first towards Hutchinson tires.
The range is coherent and covers all possible uses.
Tires share the same qualities:
- A carcass that combines comfort and performance
- Rubber compositions promoting endurance and grip
- Very good resistance to punctures and tears
- Very easy Tubeless installation on all the rims we tried
- Handcrafted in France of Tubeless models with brown sides
The range is structured around 3 models, the Overide, the Touareg and the Tundra:
Hutchinson Overide
Designed for trails and asphalt.
Very fast rolling, it will shine in the dry.
Available in sections of 35 to 50 mm, it is a model which will be aimed at always-on-wheelers who wish to maintain excellent performance without sacrificing their comfort.
Equipped with Hardskin reinforcements, it is particularly resistant to cuts and punctures
Hutchinson Touareg
This is our favorite for backcountry riding.
It is a tad less roady than the Overide but it inspires more confidence on stony paths thanks to its more marked lugs. He loves stone!
We still find the Hardskin textile grid which offers truly impressive protection against punctures and tears.
With marked side studs, and a dual-compound construction, it is quite capable on the angle in fat as well.
If you're looking for a super versatile tire and you shouldn't encounter any big mud on your journey, the Touareg is for you!
Hutchison Tundra
The Tundra is the Hutchinson tire for extreme conditions and technical passages previously reserved for mountain bikes.
When conditions deteriorate and your buttocks get tight, the Tundra is there to give you the peace of mind you need.
“Loose rock” or simply very greasy ground, the Tundra is in its element.
The dual-compound construction guarantees wear-resistant central studs and softer side studs for incredible grip when cornering.
Naturally, we also find Hardskin anti-puncture technology here.
